MyKad for a MyVi…
Thursday, August 25th, 2005"A spanking new Perodua MyVi awaits MyKad holders and those who apply
for the multi-purpose identification card by the end of November. The
RM50,000 car is the Grand Prize in a series of lucky draws by the
National Registration Department – Jom Tukar dan Menang – aimed at
getting Malaysians to switch to MyKad." - excerpt from The Start, 25th August 2005
I heard the news on radio this morning that the NRD is starting a new lucky draw contest to entice the remaining Malaysian to change their IC to the new MyKad. Well, not hearing the complete story (u know la, tune in only half way), I assumed that this contest was only applicable to those whom signed up within this quarter. Thus, to those law abiding citizens whom had gotten their new MyKad (like me), well you just blew the chance to own a new car.. He he, as if I’m gonna be the lucky one.
Anyway, upon reading the news online, I realised that the contest is applicable to all MyKad holders / applicants (old and new). And thus, I’m still in the running for the MyVi. (this is where the guilt sets in, for thinking how dumb can the NRD be for organizing such contest that will only profit those whom applied late). Well, I was wrong and they are the smarter ones. Good for them and good every single Malaysian whom had applied / obtained their MyKad. Ha ha.
On a funny note, this morning while on the way to KL for a seminar, me and my buddy saw a scooter customized into the shape of a cockerel. Complete with the ‘plume’ on the handle bar (is that what you call the red thing on the cock’s head?) and painted wings. Ha ha..
