I’m 30 and I don’t have much patience…

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

I’ve recently met up my an old school friend from my dear hometown, Kulim. It has been a long 14 years since we last have seen each other and memories came flooding back. The image that kept appearing in my mind of her was this little quiet, thin little girl in the grey and blue scout uniform. Ha ha.

Meeting up with her allows me, not only to get to know her again.. But also to find out about the rest of the people that I once knew. Junior school friends that I use to bully around in the scouting movement. Ha ha. OJL is really a pro Kulim girl. Everything she does, she does it proudly with a mention of Kulim. For example, "I cannot sia sui Kulim le".

Among many other things that I’ve kept in mind during my conversation with her is "I’m 30 and I don’t have much patience….". Is it true that the older you become, the less patience you will have? I ponder..???? I’m 5 years older than her. Grrrrrrrr, ME NO PATIENCE AT ALL… Ha ha..

Trip Pertama untuk Tahun Baru 2007…

Friday, January 5th, 2007

Made our first trip out of KL for a day on the 1st of January 2007.. Lapan orang, four couples, 2 Hondas..

On the morning of the 1st, we met at a friends place in Sunway Damansara to gather gather la.. 7.30AM was the scheduled time but we arrived only at 8AM. Ha ha.. Malaysian time ma..

Next, all of us got into two Hondas and started driving towards Rawang rest stop for breakfast. Nasi lemak, pau, kopi panas, teh tarik was the menu for that morning. Toilet breaks too. Saw some local sitcom artist on the next table, and the one I remembered the name was the Chinese lady called Angeline (I think). Ha ha.

After that, semua cramped masuk kereta and on again we go. Next stop will be the Sungai Klah Hot Spring at Sungkai. Uneventful journey, bright clear sunny day, and traffic was smooth.

From PLUS, we turn out at Sungkai interchange, paid toll and headed left at the T-junction. About 1KM away, will be another left turn to a kampung road heading directly to the TRAP (Taman Rekreasi Air Panas). Ikut saje signboard dari toll sampai la ke TRAP. No worry, no sesat wan.

Once you reached the hot spring, you need to park your car at the main entrance and purchased your tickets (hand band like ticket ala Sunway Lagoon) for about RM8 per adult for both the Hot Spring and Cold Spring Pools. Sudah ade tiket, then jump back into your car and drive further in to the bigger car park nearer to the springs, only about 50 meters in.

My advice is, GO EARLY during public holidays. Else, you may need to park as far away as 700M before the ticket booth.

What do they have there? Hot pools lo for you to soak your legs and body in
lo. Different pools with different temperature ranging from 30 degrees up to 60
degrees
. There is even a pool to cook eggs in. Private family spa pools can be arranged at the cost of RM25 per hour.

Other than the hot pools, on the other end, there is a
big cold water pool ala KLCC water park.

Food, drinks and eggs can be
bought at the cafeteria. Signboard says no outside food and then again there is no enforcement at all.

Untuk gambar TRAP, go here.

The story doesn’t end here.. We left Sg Klah at about 3PM and decided to be a little nutty.. Next stop, tea time at Ye Olde Smokehouse in Cameron Highland. so, the eight of us cramped ourselves into the 2 Hondas and on the road again we went. On the way up hill, the rain came and dampen our spirit a bit. But nonetheless, we kept on going and finally reached the Smokehouse at close to 5PM.

Enjoyed the english tea  and the surrounding offered by the quaint little cottage. Lovely garden and flowers, they have. For photos, check this out.

After tea and sembang kosong, we went on to dinner at Tanah Rata town in a restaurant called Oriental. Food was pretty good and quickly served.

The drizzle continued on while we took to the road again for home. This time round, traffic was bad and we only reached Sunway Damansara at 12.30AM.
